Peter Pig also offers a money counting game and a comparative game, in which students must choose which set of coins represents a greater amount. The tasks are differentiated for the diverse learning needs of the classroom, and the games would provide an excellent tool during whole-group as well as at work stations.
Garage Sale Wizard
The player selects the customer who offers the most money for products sold at a garage sale. The player must determine the coin values offered by each customer. This is a great game to bookmark for math work stations.
Coin Values and Names
This interactive site provides basic review questions to reinforce coin names and values. This is a great tool to use as a Smart/Promethean Board whole-class tutorial or to bookmark for students to use during math work stations.
Fruit Shoot
In this game, students must identify the fruit with the indicated value which matches the coins pictured at the bottom of the screen. Again, students are able to differentiate the game by choosing the coin denominations and selecting the speed of the game. This is another great game to use during work stations.
